Relying on Rural Resilience:
Effective Health Messaging in Rural Communities

Dawn Contreras, PhD and Holly Tiret presents...

"Rural children had higher BMIz, more emotional overeating behaviors and more time spent playing outdoors compared with urban children". This important research identifies gaps and opportunities for supporting healthy food behavior development for the youngest among us and Michigan Extension is exploring potential resources to support these children and families in rural communities. Together, participants and presenters will brainstorm strategies for supporting mindfulness in youth and those who feed them!
